Modern Optic

Modern Optic is a contemporary design studio in Los Angeles established by artist Leslie Ross-Robertson in 2001. Inspired by modernism and contemporary art, she is creating work featuring architecture and design with the traditional art form of letterpress printmaking. She is producing two lines of stationery, one printed on her Vandercook SP-20 as well as a series of prints. She has collaborated with artists, architects, and designers and has provided custom design work for Knoll, Herman Miller, and Steelcase. In 2012 Leslie started an additional press that focuses on the collaboration with contemporary artists called Wavelength Press.
