Danielle and Dan’s Wedding Invitation

Our rustic wedding on a small private island was a unique experience for our guests. It was this sense of adventure and celebration that we wished to convey with our earthy, handmade invitations.

As part of our wedding ceremony, my husband gave me a special eagle feather, and I wanted to incorporate this symbol in our invitation suite. I also took inspiration from the long path through the woods that leads to my family’s cottage. Thanks to the thick cotton paper and letterpress printing method, the tree illustration that frames the invitation feels like real bark.

Using black ink on a stone-colored 100% cotton paper, we printed the invitations ourselves on a Vandercook press at a local letterpress studio, Atelier Domino. http://atelierdomino.ca/

We also trimmed and assembled all the invitations ourselves.

I designed the invitations and took all attached photos.
