Laura & Chris Custom Letterpress Wedding Suite
This save-the-date and invitation suite was created for a client that was looking for something with a traditional look and just a little twist. The groom’s family works in a facet of the horse racing industry and they wanted to reference that in a subtle way. I started by creating the logo using their initials and two horseshoes coming together. I also found inspiration in a quilted horse blanket during my research, and that pattern got used throughout as a deboss on the flaps of the envelopes as well as the back side of the invitation, save-the-date, and RSVP. We used navy blue and metallic silver to go with the colors of the wedding and an image of a Scottish thistle was debased on the front of the invitation to reference the bride’s side of the family. The invitation components slide out of the inner envelope with a pull on the wide satin blue ribbon (pun intended.) On the RSVP card, I created a tear-off card that has the event’s URL on it for future reference. Lastly, I designed two custom stamps – one for the outer envelopes and one for the RSVP envelopes. Both reference the horse racing theme and the event colors.
